Do I Need To File an Amended Return To Correct IRS Deductions Claimed?

If you have already done your tax return then it is a hassle to have to file an amended return later on when you find some mistakes you made on your original tax return. For example, if you have claimed too many IRS deductions, then you will have to file an amended return and pay more taxes.

If the IRS finds out later on that you paid too little taxes because your tax deductions were too high then you may be subject to an audit and get a letter from the IRS that is not so pleasant.

If you did not claim certain tax deductions that you are entitled to claim then it is up to you to file an amended return or not.
